Est. Brownsville · Brooklyn
Fresh food, grown on our own block.
BK Hydro House is an indoor hydroponic farm in Brownsville growing heirloom, pesticide-free herbs and greens for the kitchens, delis and families around us.
Why Brownsville
Our neighborhood deserves food that's fresh, not shipped across the country.
In Brownsville, corner stores far outnumber grocery stores, and fresh produce is hard to find or costs too much. That's food apartheid, and it shows up in our health.
We're answering it by growing food right here, for the stores, kitchens and schools people already use, with jobs and know-how that stay in the community.
To our knowledge, the only commercial hydroponic farm in Brownsville.
Who we are
Founder Ebony Johnson grew up with the same scarcity our neighbors face today. Years in pharmacy taught her precision, and she's bringing it to growing food indoors.
